Baby Loves Disco...
Recently, some cafes and restaurants in Singapore is starting to ban children of certain age and below. They claims that these kids destroys the pleasant experience of "premium" dinning which customers expect.... of course there's expectations, they paid a premium price for it!
And it is true that at times, kids can be uncontrollable and this matters, especially when the pleasant experience is defined as peace and quiet. Nevertheless, I think we have to remember that the parents themselves are praying that their kids are not making a scene too! And if kids are uncontrollable when outside..can you imagine when at home? When they are not busily distracted and trying to absorb the new looks, smells and feels of the "outside" world
Well..there is a growing group of customers who are boycotting these places. And though childcare sucks away lots of $, some/many of these parents indeed are still able to afford to go to these places. Plus...parents do dine etc without their kids! And during such times, these places are no longer high in their choice list
Well... all the headaches and prejudices against folks with kids...how many times have you heard about singles or DINKS mentioning that - once folks get pregnant and/or have kids...they do nothing but talk about kids.
"pregnancies are so troublesome, no idea why anyone ever want to be pregnant"
"just because you are pregnant, you think you are big shot?"
Oh well.. as usual, I have gone off tangent...what I wanted to share is that ...
Hey, there are activities that singles will miss out.. (by the way, they are many many folks without kids who are lovely friends who don't mind helping out mothers , or simply understanding that at times, mothers are just not available and they also need their "peace and quiet" when they have some time. And for these lovely folks....they won't be missing out on any such activities as they can simply "borrow" a child out...or go with a family with child. Folks with child/ren always welcome folks without, they do hope not to bother singles with the notice, mess etc though )
Well...even a trip to Universal studio will be much more fun, with all the innocent smiles and excitements oozing from children! Definitely... any 26 year old politician wanna be (who will become 26 yr old politician-pretending-to-be one...once election is over..argh!) won't be able to experience it. Oops...maybe she can...if any adults agree to bring her
